If you’re staying in Madrid these months, chef Íñigo Urrechu offers everything you need for evening plans. Because sometimes it is not necessary to leave the city to enjoy a quiet evening in a garden with the soothing sound of a fountain in the background. ‘Summer Nights’ is the Basque chef’s proposal on the terrace of the Urrechu Velázquez restaurant for summer nights. Located inside the restaurant, it has an outdoor area surrounded by vegetation, where the fountains and their relaxing sound liven up the delicious recipes served here.

As if it were a real oasis, this terrace located in the heart of the Salamanca district will take you into a context of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the capital, so that you can focus on its gastronomic proposal based on a high quality product. The summer menu includes great classics of the house, such as the Exqueisada of cod, lobster and tomato water gelée; or the “fresh” Briochitos of guacatun and crayfish salad.

Among the fish and meat novelties, the Hake with red shrimp cream and its carpaccio or the Tetris sirloin with teriyaki sauce of its juice and Idiazábal royal. But one of the star dishes for the summer will be the EscaLoves with which Íñigo Urrechu demonstrates his love for escalopes, offering 140 g of veal with three different proposals: EscaLove Mar y Montaña, the EscaLove Tex-Mex burrito EscaLove with spicy mayonnaise; and the EscaLove Iberian cheek EscaLove with Paris mushroom and Parmesan cheese.

To end this summer night as it deserves, you can order their exquisite torrija dices with a touch of coffee with milk and iced cream. Although the party will not end until you try one of their signature cocktails from 9 €, which even the diner can create ad hoc to your liking. Otherwise, you can opt for proposals such as Nuestro Vermut, a house vermouth with Belsazar rose, Martini bitter, Tanqueray Ten and elderflower liqueur, or the Berry Mule, with Ciroc Berry, raspberry liqueur, natural lime juice and ginger beer.
