What to eat and how much it costs: this is La Cocina de Frente, one of José Andrés’ restaurants in Madrid

In addition to having a veritable empire in the United States with Jaleo or Mercado Little Spain, among others, the Spanish chef also has several restaurants in Madrid. Today we present La Cocina de Frente. Take note!

Chef José Andrés has become a true reference in and out of the kitchen. In the United States he has created an authentic gastronomic empire, valued at more than 50 million euros, and he is also one of the most mediatic chefs in the world, thanks to his humanitarian work. But the Asturian has not forgotten Spain and also has several hotel businesses here. With his company José Andrés Corporation INC, he runs several restaurants in Madrid. One of them is La Cocina de Frente, by chef Carlos García (under the supervision of Juanjo López). Located on Calle Ibiza, this restaurant offers up-to-date home cooking for around €50 per diner. Here’s what you’ll find if you visit.

La Cocina de Frente

In this restaurant they offer a gastronomic proposal with soul, with traditional recipes but giving them an updated touch and renewing them every week. Their premise is “to make the simple into something extraordinary”. So, here you can try their famous Cocido madrileño ‘our way’ for 35 €. They also have #elcocidodetodos, an initiative by Juanjo López to promote this typical Madrilenian dish. Periodically, different chefs, such as Joan Roca, come to the restaurant to create a unique proposal together. Ángel León and Eneko Atxa, among others, will soon be visiting the kitchen.

Other dishes you must try in this restaurant are the pisto manchego (ratatouille), veal shank, pickled quail, Andalusian-style anchovies, peppers stuffed with cod or potatoes a la importancia. And all accompanied by a good wine.
