Contemplating planet Earth from a space station while savoring a galactic cocktail and a cosmic burger is a stellar culinary experience that can be enjoyed from the Space 220 restaurant at Disney World. “Dine among the stars at a brand new restaurant that’s out of this world!” they write as an invitation. And who can resist such an intergalactic feast?

This amazing ‘gastronomic exploration’ takes place from an extension of Mission: SPACE Pavilion at EPCOT, which is Disney World’s theme park “where the impossible becomes possible”, and starts from an elevator that leads to the ‘Centauri space station’. During this virtual reality journey, Disney explains, you can enjoy an aerial view of EPCOT “as you ascend to the stars”.

Once you ‘land’ 220 miles above Earth (about 354 kilometers), an interstellar lunch or dinner awaits you with panoramic day and night views of the blue planet, similar to those seen by astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

A cosmic menu

The curious gastronomic proposal of this restaurant takes you into space bite by bite through such original starters as the Big Bang burrata, the Blue Moon Cauliflower or the Star Squid. After the ‘Take-off’ come the ‘Star Dishes’, among them the Crystal Valley Slow Roasted Chicken, the Gemini Burger or the Galactic Miso Salmon.

They also reserve a special section for desserts, ‘Supernova Sweets’ -the Peanut Candy Comet is one of the most popular-; and another for drinks, ‘Atmospheric Spirits’, with cocktails as suggestive as the Saturn 2.0, the Galactic Spritz, the Black Hole Fashioned or the M4RG4R1TA.

They also have fun ‘Star Dishes’, ‘Supernova Treats’ and ‘Celestial Drinks’ to accompany the children’s ‘space trip’: the Espacioghetti, the Cosmic Cupcake or the Starship Lemonade will drive the youngest crew members crazy.

We wonder if this will be the closest we’ll ever get to dining in space; although, yes, whoever has 120,000 euros will be able to travel to the stratosphere in a balloon from 2025 and enjoy a good French meal with a view of the Earth.
