Mystery ‘dishes’ have become a constant at McDonald’s, as we saw with the ‘Ronald Birthday Cake‘: a retro-inspired cake centred on the iconic mascot of its Ronald McDonald universe, which could be found on one of the chain’s menus.

Now, fans of the giant will be able to decipher another of its enigmas: a birthday cake that was very popular at parties in the 90s and 2000s, which has just had its revival in Australia.

Brisbane fitness influencer Bec Hardgrave decided to see if the rumours were true by heading to her local McDonald’s drive-thru to buy the product that reminded her of Macca’s birthday parties.

Hardgrave filmed herself walking into her local Macca’s and ordering the cake in a TikTok video in which she is seen holding a Peter’s Original Party Cake, which contains 15 portions and can also be purchased at Coles and Woolworths. How much? 14.95 euros.

‘It doesn’t even have the McDonald’s wrapper, but the employee gave me the box and said, ‘I’ve never seen anyone buy this before’. She ended her video by explaining that she had loved the ice cream cake as a child, describing it as ‘elite’.

The fitness influencer ended up going viral with this clip, which led to Macca’s revealing how to get this ‘Vanilla, Strawberry and Chocolate Party Cake with toppings on top. Now everyone wants to get their hands on it.
