KFC x PROPER team up for good with popcorn ring

The fast food chain has once again ventured into the world of fashion to place a popcorn chicken ring stamped with the PROPER identity on the global showcase.

Snack brand PROPER partnered with KFC to launch fried chicken-flavored popcorn. Now, they are taking their relationship a step further to eternally bond by jointly sculpting this season’s foodie accessory: the popcorn chicken ring.

In collaboration with artist and designer Anna Lomax, the piece takes the form of a 9-karat gold-plated ring that evokes KFC’s signature popcorn buckets and stripes.

‘Much of my work is inspired by placing objects in unusual places, so what better than a ring inspired by popcorn kernels and fried chicken,’ notes Lomax.

‘The design process involved 3D scanning both popcorn kernels and fried chicken, so we could incorporate these textures into the ring,’ he explains. ‘The overall design is inspired by 1970s nugget rings, swapping the traditional finish for the 3D scanned popcorn texture and combining it with a sovereign square mount shape, echoing the iconic shape of KFC’s Popcorn Chicken Box.’

The KFC x PROPER rings will go on sale exclusively on Proper’s website on October 6.
