Almost eight years ago Jordi Roca’s life changed completely. The pastry chef at El Celler de Can Roca suffered from dystonia and completely lost his voice. Since then, he has had to live with it and relearn how to regain his voice. And it seems that the effort and work have been worth it because the youngest of the Roca brothers has announced on his social networks that he has regained his voice.

In an emotional video, Jordi gave this good news, even adding a touch of humour by joking that he has “the voice of a two o’clock in the morning radio announcer”. During all this time, the chef has had spikes in his voice that have come and gone, but it seems that his phonation is now improving and he has “relearned to speak without effort”. Although in the video he also stated that he does not know what might happen tomorrow.

Taking advantage of the fact that he had regained his voice, the chef thanked all those who have helped him during this difficult process, helping him, giving him advice and guidance. From his family to friends and professionals who have treated him. He has also received a lot of congratulatory messages, such as those from his own team at El Celler de Can Roca.

In this case, Jordi Roca’s dystonia is a rare disease that has affected his neck muscles, damaging his vocal cords. We are very happy about this great news and we are sure that the chef of El Celler de Can Roca will be at 100% very soon.
