In December 2020, Jessica Yang and Robert Compagnon opened the doors of Federol in Paris’ 11th arrondissement. A small 430-square-meter venue with a horseshoe-shaped bar and a dozen counters stretching around a perimeter from which they serve artisanal ice cream in antique metal cups alongside a selection of natural wines. A hybrid concept and/or a perfect fusion that defines the identity of this business based purely on pleasure.

Folderol is run by this couple of experts with a passion for wine and quality products, who have turned this hidden gem located near Boulevard Voltair into a real hot spot in Paris, with an effervescent influx of people overflowing, especially during Fashion Week. A meeting place for creative communities and visitors who constantly want to quench their hunger and thirst in this universe of artisanal ice cream served in vintage coupes.

FORMULA CAVE À MANGER

Its influence and the attractiveness of its Cave à Manger formula constantly draw locals from the neighborhood and beyond to form long lines in its streets and its invisibly established urban core. Thus, it is not uncommon to see bon vivants sitting on its sidewalk, drinking wine, eating ice cream and chatting as if they were part of an eternal block party. In fact, Folderol has even attracted iconic personalities such as Dua Lipa and Jacquemus to its orbit.

In this sense, throughout the day, this place serves a whole display of American-inspired ice creams ranging from cold coffee to green melon and orange blossom (as the most popular), to other more classic ones such as peanut butter, chocolate and cookies. This ice cream world merges with another liquid, starring artisanal, organic and biodynamic wines from small producers and independent wineries.

At night, the evening session transforms the space, changing the ambiance and activating the wine bar. The concrete counter then begins to serve tasting glasses, which can be accompanied by savory dishes such as trays of Italian cured meats and homemade focaccias.
