The Big Mac is probably the most iconic burger in existence. One of McDonald’s emblems, it has been marketed since 1967 and is even used as a symbol of American capitalism. We all have in our minds (and in our palate) its typical appearance: a double hamburger with three buns – called patties -, chopped onion, lettuce, pickles and, above all, its unmistakable sauce. Now the fast food chain has released a statement informing of some changes to its Big Mac and other burgers such as the cheesburger. They are already available in international markets such as Australia, Canada and Belgium. In the United States they will be available in the coming months, while in Spain there is still no date. We reveal what these changes consist of.

According to Chef Chad Schafer, Senior Director of Culinary Innovation at McDonald’s USA, these changes “make a big difference in making our burgers tastier than ever. These improvements to Big Macs will start with softer and better buns. They will also include consistently melted cheese. In addition, the burgers will be better sealed. And here’s the most important element: more Big Mac sauce will be added, bringing more tangy sweetness to every bite of the burger.

What do you think of these changes and are you looking forward to their availability in our country?
