The Belgian fries are no longer just eaten and admired from behind its friterie kiosks. They are now also displayed as works of art to be worshipped in a museum dedicated to this symbol of Brussels’ culinary heritage.
‘Located in the heart of Brussels, our unique museum invites you to discover the origins, culture and secrets of the making of this world-famous dish,’ the museum itself describes the experience.

In the interactive space of the Frietmuseum Brussels, visitors can explore the culture and history of the French fry, discovering how it became the star of Belgian fried foods. Also the myth of these potatoes and their true origins. Not forgetting the various double-cooking techniques and the secrets to making them to perfection, as well as rare objects such as vintage fryers, sculptures and a video game in which you can shoot potatoes.

The founding family of this new culinary museum is the Van Bell family, the same as that of the legendary Choco-Story chocolate museum, who have now wanted to pay homage to this Belgian culinary emblem with a touch of humour and fun.
