Balenciaga sells its chip bags for 1,500 euros

The luxury brand’s ‘chip-bags’ are now coming to light.

Demna Gvasalia, as creative director of Balenciaga, once again ironized fashion by turning bags of potato chips into high-end accessories for the spring-summer 2024 season. Well, now he has just put them on sale on his website for 1,490 euros per unit, starting a new wave of criticism from all his reactionaries.

This salty collection is presented as a new provocative act or ‘social experiment’ for some fashion critics, with which it extends its collection of snacks in the form of clutches that aesthetically evoked the bags of Lays potatoes, transforming the ‘trash’ in high fashion.

Balenciaga now presents these ‘150 g’ luxury items in different flavors: the yellow ‘cheese & onion’, the spicy ‘spicy chill’ dressed in fire red, and the ‘salt and vinegar’ in blue, made in leather and sealed by a zipper at the top.
