The viral trend of ‘chaos cooking’ has been projected on TikTok since 2022, at which point the fascination began to captivate content creators who went on to enshrine it as one of the great culinary methods of our age.

Chaos cooking, before it became a trend, was born from the long list of chefs who looked in their fridges and decided to experiment with leftovers, combining different random ingredients to create succulent dishes with these seemingly unconnected elements.

The term, which even has a key scene in the second season of the series ‘The Bear‘, consists of creating dishes so that food does not spoil. This is a variant of the ‘kitchen of use’ in which if there are any ‘rules’, it is to cook without a recipe, mixing ingredients in a creative and ingenious way.

From fried chicken burritos to hamburger ramen… the aim is to experiment without any apparent sense in search of a surprising result with which to make the most of the surplus.
