Christened by the media as the ‘sweet-toothed thief’, this woman in her 30s was the protagonist of this new culinary event with a global echo. A real crime based on what could be a fictional story: the theft of a van containing 10,000 Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

The bizarre incident was reported by the company after the van went missing while on its delivery route in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.

The delivery van was stolen from a Carlingford petrol station at exactly 3.30am on Wednesday 29 November. It appears that the van driver was inside the petrol station when the thief decided to make off with the delicious canister.

It is believed the van was filled with a mix of classic Krispy Kreme flavours, along with a load of Christmas specials.

Faced with such a paradigm, police continue to search for the thief, while appealing to the public for any information about the robbery: ‘If you have any leads or any CCTV footage, don’t keep it to yourself! Contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000’.
