The London streetwear label will now be part of McDonald’s history forever. Palace is now delving into the McDonald’s universe to launch a SS23 collaboration revolving around the ‘As Featured In’ film campaign revealed -spoiler alert- on a billboard in the heart of New York.

The Palace Skateboards x McDonald’s collaboration entitled ‘PALACE MCDONALDS‘ features a capsule collection of 15 fast food fashion pieces: sweatshirts, graphic tees and skateboards sheathed in the brands’ shared DNA and logo. In it, we can find a selection of T-shirts on which we can read different messages about McDonald’s guilty pleasures.

However, the revelation about the collection tells only part of the Palace x McDonald’s story, which began on August 8 with that Palace billboard in New York’s Times Square.

The Palace x McDonald’s billboard, above a McDonald’s restaurant, offered a short, pithy phrase: ‘Basically, if I do enough McDonald’s descriptions, I think I’ll be able to spend burgers and my life will be complete’-broken into the typical bullet points that serve as descriptions of items on Palace’s website.

Meanwhile, on McDonald’s Instagram profile, short clips showing McDonald’s stellar appearances in TV shows and movies such as ‘Loki’ and the anime series ‘The Devil is a Part Timer’ played on McDonald’s Instagram profile, making up the footage for this Palace-directed pop-up film.

McDonald’s role in the movies

The fast food giant has been a mainstay in the world of entertainment for decades, from classic movies and sitcoms to cult themes and anime series. So, based on that storyline and script, on August 9, the duo unveiled their new As Featured In Meal: a collection of fan-favorite dishes that have appeared in the worlds of film, television and music, visually referencing nearly two dozen culinary cameos in pop culture and Palace Skateboards ‘guest stars’.

The menu includes a number of classic delicacies representative of the ‘Golden Arches’ -the chain’s isotype- including the iconic ‘Quarter Pounder with cheese’, which gives a nostalgic nod to ‘Reality Bites’, while the Big Mac recalls one of George Costanza’s quotes on ‘Seinfeld’. On August 12, the collaboration finished lighting up with a solid gold ruby ring.

The collection will be available for purchase on the official Palace McDonald’s microsite from August 16.
