Exoticism is presented as a constant in Megan Thee Stallion‘s imaginary, as we could already see in her clip of ‘Cobra’ in which she hypnotizes the reptile with its venom. On her current trip to Japan, she has continued to explore the concept, as we could see in a video on TikTok, in which she was seen tasting the habushu liquor.

This liquor originating in Okinawa is characterized by containing the local Habu snake inside, which is fermented inside to mature as long as possible. The drink itself is made with Thai rice and a black mold called kōji that distills a high alcohol content. In its bottle, on many occasions, the snake is put in while still alive, which ends up dying quickly.

At her Japanese food and drink tasting, Meg decided to try the potion, of which she asked if it would lead to her death. ‘Is this going to kill me? It’s looking at me,’ she said before downing the shot. To which she added: ‘It’s tough.
