For those of you who haven’t heard of Matthew James Matheson, he is an acclaimed chef who runs 11 restaurants in Canada, an iconic Canadian actor and internet star, best known today for his role as Neil Fak on The Bear.

The series, which dominated the Emmy Awards on 15 January with six awards, took centre stage at the gala, which featured key moments such as the acceptance speech by Matty Matheson, who used one such moment to demonstrate his deep love of the restaurant industry.

‘What’s the good thing? I just want to thank the restaurants as a whole, the hospitality as a whole,’ Matheson said, moments before receiving a passionate kiss from fellow actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

‘I love restaurants, both good and bad,’ she continued. ‘It’s hard. We’re all broken inside, and every day we have to show up and cook and make people feel good about eating something that’s sitting on a table.’
