Pizza thieves who robbed a DoorDash driver were at the centre of a case that Bo, a 10-month-old Bloodhound, would eventually solve.

According to a statement from the Gastonia Police Department, just after 11 a.m. on Dec. 28, a DoorDash driver reported that she had been robbed. Bo was driven to the scene of the crime, got a good whiff of the suspect’s scent, and then followed him to the alleged robber’s door.

The police report states that the theft was of a Pizza Hut Big Box Meal, which contained pizza, wings and breadsticks; items that were valued at $30. Said box would be recovered before it was even opened.

The 18-year-old Gastonia resident and another unnamed person in the same house were arrested and charged with burglary thanks to the actions of Bo, the only dog in the Gastonia Police Department’s K9 unit.
