Ina Garten then makes a cameo appearance alongside Garner in their latest instalment, in which they jointly prepare their recipe for Cacio e Pepe scrambled eggs the easy way. Here is the recipe and the culinary process to recreate them.

Ingredients

12 extra-large eggs, 1 cup whole milk, 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, ⅔ cup freshly grated pecorino cheese (and more to serve), Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Recipe

First, the performer whips the eggs, milk and 2 teaspoons of salt in a medium bowl. Next, Garten makes a surprise appearance by setting the heat to a very low temperature.

Before Garner adds the beaten egg mixture to the hot, buttered skillet, Garten sprinkles salt and pepper, then pours the eggs into the skillet until they set ‘a little’ and stirs them until they are fluffy.

When the eggs are almost done, the American chef and writer sprinkles them with sheep’s cheese and black pepper. She then turns off the heat when the eggs have finished cooking.
