Geneva’s best restaurants to eat at the Watches and Wonders 2023 fair

From 27 March to 2 April, the Watches & Wonders fair, the world's largest luxury watch event, will take place in Geneva. And to make sure the event goes off without a hitch, we have selected the best restaurants in the city for you to dine in luxury.

Luxury watches are taking over the city of Geneva this week. From 27 March to 2 April, the Swiss city is hosting the Watches & Wonders fair, the world’s largest luxury watch event. The 48 prestigious brands and watchmakers will be on hand to showcase all the latest developments in the industry. The fair takes place at Palexpo, on the outskirts of Geneva, but the whole city has become a showcase for watches, with many brands setting up shop in luxurious hotels to present their new collections, as well as organising exhibitions and other related activities. And as no event is complete without a gastronomic experience to match, we’ve selected some of the best restaurants in Geneva for you to enjoy a luxurious evening.

Domaine de Châteauvieux

It is located in a secluded spot overlooking the Geneva countryside and vineyards. It is a cosy restaurant where chef Philippe Cherier uses all his imagination based on natural and essential flavours, where seasonal produce is king. It offers a sensory experience through a simple but refined approach. It is the only two-star restaurant in Geneva. They have different menus full of recipes that celebrate the flavours of each season. For example, the spring menu has several options: from 4 passes (190 €) to 6 passes (320 €), with dishes such as Norwegian spider crab rillette with stracciatella and pea soup with roasted pistachios or grilled fillet of veal from the Swiss Alps cooked in hazelnut butter, morels stuffed with spinach, marrow juice. Le Flacon

This “bistronomic” restaurant – haute cuisine with a bistro spirit – offers quality produce at a fairly affordable price. Young chef Lucrèce Lacchio is in charge of the kitchen and prepares all his dishes with fresh seasonal products, carefully selected for their quality. Among the proposals on offer are the Découverte menus, a surprise menu in 5 or 7 courses, which is a real gustatory journey for the diner. Price: 115 or 145 €. Modern cuisine.

La Micheline

Its location is unbeatable, opposite the new station, this restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine focused on the ingredient and its flavour. Basque-born chef Andrés Arocena is at the helm of the kitchen, and he creates a creative proposal that will leave no one indifferent. You have a menu of the week, whose main dish until 1 April will be the yellow bird stuffed with black garlic/peas and French lettuce. Mediterranean cuisine.

L’Atelier Robuchon

Inside the luxurious Woodward Hotel, on the shores of Lake Geneva, the restaurant L’Atelier features the open kitchen concept of legendary chef Joël Robuchon. Here a theatrical dining experience is created for 36 people seated around the counter offering a memorable gastronomic evening. There are a la carte options as well as tasting menus such as chef Olivie Jean’s for €252 (also with a vegetarian option for €180). Contemporary French cuisine.

Tsé Fung

One of the restaurants inside the luxury hotel La Réserve, it is the only starred Chinese restaurant in Switzerland. Chef Frank Xu is in charge of the kitchen, preparing haute Chinese cuisine based on reinterpretations of traditional Cantonese dishes. And all in a luxurious ambience with red velvet, black lacquer and silk tapestries that will transport you to a 1930s Shanghai palace. Several menus are available: Business (for 76 €), Emerald (for 150 €) and Diamond (for 190 €). Chinese cuisine.

Le Cigalon

This restaurant has been the temple of fish in Switzerland for 28 years. A seafood cuisine that offers tasty and generous dishes that highlight top-quality products. The menu reflects the richness and diversity and includes special suggestions depending on the time of year. Run by the Bessire couple, several menus are available. The “Petit Caprice” menu (€70), the “L’Océan Gourmand” menu (€142) and the “Carte blanche au Chef” menu (€177). French cuisine / Fish and seafood.

One of the most elegant restaurants in Geneva. With a classic but daring cuisine by the prestigious chef Michel Roth, you will live a gastronomic experience in a unique setting overlooking Lake Geneva. There is an extensive menu and also an exclusive Tasting Menu of 6 (205 € with food pairing) or 9 courses (305 € with food pairing), in which local and sustainable food is the protagonist.
