Two-Michelin-starred Danish chef Rasmus Munk has collaborated with luxury space travel company SpaceVIP to design a $495,000 star menu that can be eaten from space. Exactly, from a stratospheric balloon.

Munk wanted to transcend the terrestrial realm to take his menu high into the sky, taking the immersive experience he serves at his Alchemist restaurant in Copenhagen.

SpaceVIP joins forces with this eminence of avant-garde haute cuisine to explore and present a new stratospheric gastronomic adventure that will be even more exclusive than the one presented in its 52-seat culinary institution.

The menu will be served in Space Perspective’s Spaceship Neptune capsule, and will be limited to just six diners who will be able to experience the space soiree, following a six-hour journey in Spaceship Neptune. The project will attract to its orbit all of those casts of explorers who will make history by enjoying food above 99% of the Earth’s atmosphere.

Chef Rasmus will serve imaginative dishes inspired by the role of space exploration over the last 60 years of human history, and the impact it has had on our society, both scientifically and philosophically.

The ticket price will also include the textile equipment of the ‘culinary travellers’, made by the French brand Ogier, whose customised suits will use ‘cutting-edge fabric technology’ specifically for this mission.
