Summer officially begins and to celebrate we want to give ourselves a gastronomic tribute as the occasion deserves. Because there are summers and summers, we have selected eight restaurants in Madrid for you to inaugurate the summer season with different plans: from iconic terraces to the most refreshing proposals. There’s room for every mood, so take note.

Terracotta

A refuge in the heart of the Salamanca neighborhood, where you can enjoy artisan cuisine in an earthly environment, based on clay materials that will totally evade you. They also have a terrace for the most stray. Its honest and traditional cuisine with a modern touch combines perfectly with a liquid and refreshing offer based on its innovative sangaree’s: six signature sangrias adapted to all tastes. From Pineapple, Citrus & Floral or Sweet & Aromatic, you will end up trying them all because they have become the best remedy to combat the heat.

Bareto

Unbeatable location, between Cibeles and Puerta de Alcalá, to welcome the summer in this modern bar, but with all the essence of the taverns of a lifetime. A plan of well-drawn beers and traditional tapas: from gildas to mussels, through torreznos, huevos rotos, bravas or croquettes. A plan that never fails for those summer walks. And now you can have it doubly because they recently opened another place in another emblematic area of the capital: the Triángulo del Arte. Is there anything more Madrilenian than this?

Pólvora

Just like the typical ritual at the beginning of a mascletà in Valencia, in this restaurant with lots of gunpowder you can also give the starting signal with an original gastro proposal that combines the Asian tradition with the Latin spark. Its spacious premises with different spaces, including a central courtyard garden and a terrace on the boulevard of Juan Bravo, will make your lunch or dinner a good summer plan. In addition, the plan is completed with a good cocktail bar and Dj and live music at night on weekends. Among the delicacies that you can taste, the award-winning crab burger, the Cuban sandwich, the Limean cause, sautéed eggplants or Russian salad with glass prawns stand out. Another great option is the Executive Menu for 20 €.

El Patio de Atocha

Nothing like getting lost in the heart of Madrid. Once you enter this 19th century palace where the CoolRooms hotel is located, time stops and you are invaded by a tranquility to enjoy the here and now. A quiet evening to enjoy in its restaurant, El Patio de Atocha, the cuisine of chef Eduardo Gutiérrez. A fresh, versatile and fun proposal in which Mediterranean, Mexican, Peruvian and Asian flavors converge. Its bucolic atmosphere will make your welcome to summer the most romantic of all.

Ginkgo Restaurante & Sky Bar

In the exclusive Pool Area of the VP Plaza España Design hotel, a true paradise awaits you to give free rein to the most refreshing and foodie summer. Between swims in its private pool, you can also enjoy a quality gastro proposal Fine de Claire nº2 oysters with Veuve Clicquot champagne, chicken yakitori with basil emulsion for carnivores or its reinterpretation of the classic bravas, based on flaky potatoes with brava sauce and roasted garlic aioli. And all in a unique setting overlooking the Royal Palace and Plaza España. Little more could be asked for.

Nómada

If what you want this summer is to travel, you just have to visit this restaurant to go around the world through the palate. Located in the Salamanca neighborhood, Nomad brings together different cultures to offer the most popular recipes in the world. To enter here is to enter a Madrilenian tent to taste more than a dozen dishes recognizable by all, such as tuna tataki, cochinita tacos or octopus with ajada and potatoes. It also has a terrace where you can lose yourself and enjoy a varied cocktail menu prepared by César Luís García. During dinner, you will enjoy musical performances and other shows; and afterwards, you will end the evening at ÎSTAR, located right on the first floor, which worships Afro-house music.

Tatel

This reference space in the Paseo de la Castellana has a new fresh and creative gastronomic proposal for this summer. Under the direction of its executive chef, Juan Antonio Medina, all the dishes revolve around the product. On the menu, you can try the shrimp fritters with chorón sauce in our style, the roast rack of lamb with potato risolada or rice with seasonal vegetables and grilled artichoke flower. Tatel is always an ideal place for lunches and dinners as well as for the evening. There is always the best live music and a fantastic terrace to make it a must stop this summer.

Apura

And if you are looking to welcome the summer in a more casual way, Apura will be your meeting point. The most roguish place of chef Mario Céspedes, has recently inaugurated the season of terraces including new culinary proposals in its menu, among which stands out La Ahumada, a juicy brioche bun burger with two fillets of old beef, cheese, fried bacon, lettuce and smoked sauce. Of course, there will be no shortage of their classic sanguches. And all accompanied by a good pisco sour or one of its 25 wine references. Hurry up!
