Coca-Cola has its sights set on the future, and to accelerate that process it has teamed up with Microsoft Corp to develop a five-year strategy to develop the adoption of cloud technologies and generative AI across the pop drink’s global operations.

This collaboration centers on a $1.1 billion investment in Microsoft Cloud, highlighting The Coca-Cola Company‘s shift toward a digital focus in its business practices with which to foster innovation. Tactics that will integrate the use of Microsoft Azure and Azure OpenAI Service to improve various business functions, such as marketing, manufacturing or customer service. Other tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot will boost productivity in the workplace.

‘This new agreement builds on the success of Coca-Cola’s collaboration strategy with Microsoft, showcasing our commitment to ongoing digital transformation,’ said John Murphy, president and CFO of the US company.

The company, in fact, has already begun that transformation by transitioning its applications to Microsoft Azure, with significant adoption among its major independent bottling partners marking the first significant step on that path to Coca-Cola’s technological future.
