The soccer star has just revealed one of his great hidden hobbies, which started as a hobby with his children in the backyard of his house. David Beckham‘s love for beekeeping would grow over time, eventually materializing into a line of fruit snacks made with honey.

‘My love of beekeeping and making my own honey started as a hobby and quickly became a passion. I built the hives with my children, learned how to take care of the bees and mastered the art of harvesting one of nature’s most powerful superfoods.’

Spurred by that active search for healthy snack alternatives for his children, David decided to create BEEUP, ‘a new snack brand based on honey, my love of family and active living.’

BEEUP he developed and co-founded with entrepreneur Shaun Neff, and is inspired by his ‘well-documented love of beekeeping’ and his desire to create something nutritious for kids and families. ‘Whether they’re getting ready for a game, a performance or the playground, we created BEEUP to give families a natural energy they can feel good about.’

BEEUP snacks are now available in three flavors: very berry, sour watermelon and tropical mix at Target stores across the U.S., Target.com and on BEEUP’s website for $4.99.
