The world’s oldest Irish whiskey is made by the Midleton<\/strong> brand, presented in a luxury bottle to mark its 200th anniversary. Framed in the sixth chapter of its \u2018Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection<\/strong>\u2019, this liquid expression dilutes two centuries of history in a bottle valued at no less than $60,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection Chapter Six<\/strong> is a whisky whose excellence is due to many extraordinary factors. From the characteristics of the now incredibly rare single still distillate style created at old Midleton, to the 50-year maturation process under the care of my predecessors and myself, to a one-of-a-kind final pairing, this whisky has been cared for like no other. Max, Barry, Brian, Ger and I, along with the Midleton distillery family, past and present, have been a team for many decades, protecting and nurturing this liquid to its fullness. While there is a sense of sadness as the Old Midleton Distillery and the Silent Distillery Collection come to an end, I know everyone will agree that it has been an extraordinary privilege to be part of the creation process,\u2019 says master distiller Kevin O’Gorman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the first edition to be released in 2020<\/strong> with a peated malt, this bottle marks the end of the exclusive series, closing it in style with a single malt Irish whiskey originally distilled by Max Crockett, which also holds historical significance. The whiskey in question began life at the old Midleton distillery with the Silent Distillery Collection, which was in operation from 1825 until 1975, before operations were moved to a new location. It was dismantled in the mid-1970s after operations expanded beyond the physical capacity of the distillery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the past 45-50 years, this collection of whisky has remained intact, a relic of a decade of whisky making full of experimentation and innovation, according to the Midleton Very Rare website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
