However, that collective devotion now seems to have been reversed after a <strong>New York woman <\/strong>uncovered the hidden truth about the Girl Scouts. She found that unexpected toxic elements such as aluminium, arsenic, lead, mercury and pesticides were found in their ingredients. Following the analysis, she decided to file a lawsuit against the Girls Scouts of the USA, alleging that they were selling biscuits contaminated with heavy metals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Reuters, the complaint by Amy Mayo was filed on Monday 10 March in federal court against the Girl Scouts of America and its biscuit manufacturers Ferrero U.S.A. and Interbake Foods. In total, the lawsuit seeks $5 million in damages from US purchasers. In addition to this sum, the lawsuit seeks to require the Girl Scouts of America to update their packaging to disclose the presence of the alleged toxic substances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Lawsuit filed against Girl Scouts of America, alleging dangerous toxins in some cookies\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1PIKw1u7o7s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Specifically, the lawsuit refers to a 2024 study commissioned by Moms Across America and GMO Science, which tested the biscuits for toxic metals and the herbicide glyphosate\/AMPA. According to the findings, \u2018100% of samples tested positive for glyphosate, 100% tested positive for toxic metals, 22 out of 25 (88%) of samples tested positive for all five toxic metals, 76% tested positive for cadmium levels exceeding EPA limits in water, and 24 out of 25 (96%) of samples tested positive for lead.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>News of Mayo&#8217;s lawsuit comes just weeks after several TikTok videos went viral about alleged heavy metals and toxins in Girl Scout biscuits.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Click here to read the Spanish version.
