After launching Evian<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> water bottles designed through the lens of his signature Human Race<\/strong>, Pharrell<\/strong> Williams<\/strong> is back to shake up the scene with two new Japanese eateries in Miami. Created in collaboration with Launchpad Hospitality Group, which he would join as a partner and advisor, Nami Nori and Matsuyoi fuse the best of Japanese food with Williams’ boundless creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nami Nori<\/strong>‘s Miami branch opened in mid-December, while Matsuyoi <\/strong>will open later this month in the same building in Miami’s Design District. There, chef Taka Sakeda <\/strong>will serve an exclusive multi-course menu revolving around hand rolls, also known as ‘temaki’.<\/p>\n\n\n

The restaurant will be orchestrated around the chef’s counter, with seating for 10 diners, surrounded by a cocktail bar and a lounge atmosphere. In addition, there will be a private dining room and a terrace where 14 people will be able to enjoy the experience simultaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n

The design transposes Kawase Hasui woodblock art in the wake of its shou sugi ban woods and black terracotta tiles in the bar area to complement the dark stone chef’s counter with moss green stools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sakaeda<\/strong> and Jihan Lee<\/strong>, as associate chefs, have designed artisanal scallop rolls with X.O. sauce, tuna poke and spicy crab dynamite for the restaurant for Nami Nori, which is located on the first floor of Matsuyoi, which nods to the beaches of Miami through neutral hues and luminosity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
