Maurizio Cattelan<\/strong>‘s iconoclastic work would begin to have a prominent and\/or irreverent presence in the art world when he first presented at Art Basel Miami <\/strong>his piece titled ‘Comedian<\/strong>‘ (2019). From then on, and from the stir he caused by his installation based on a banana with a sticky tape <\/strong>attached to the wall, he has been acquiring an exorbitant value with the passage of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His allegory or critique of global commerce was based on the following manifesto: ‘In art fairs, speed and business reign, so I saw it this way: if I had to be in a fair, I could sell a banana like others sell their paintings. I could play within the system, but with my rules’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
