The season of the beginning and end of the harvest becomes a great national celebration in which several wine regions celebrate in style. In Jerez de la Frontera <\/strong>they already started on August 31 and will end on September 15 with a program of festivities that includes blind tastings, visits to its most iconic wineries such as T\u00edo Pepe, tastings, as well as activities for children focused on their initiation in the harvest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, in Rioja<\/strong>, the Rioja Grape Harvest Festival is held in Logro\u00f1o from September 20 to 26. Its program includes concerts, craft markets and parades that pay tribute to the art of winemaking.<\/p>\n\n\n

The municipality of Rueda<\/strong> also pays tribute to the grape with the harvesting of the grapes at night and by machine, including the tasting of the first grape juice of the year. A ritual that began in early August and continues through September. Wineries such as the legendary Yllera give the possibility on September 13 to visit their clandestine winery and take a guided tour. In addition, Mart\u00edn Berasategui has created a special menu with food and wine pairing in the gastrobodega to complete the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Catalonia, the biggest celebration takes place in Pened\u00e8s <\/strong>throughout the month of September. Among the most outstanding activities is that of September 7 and 8: the Phylloxera Festival in Sant Sadurn\u00ed d’Anoia, which celebrates with fire and music the end of the plague that wiped out its vines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other towns such as Binissalem<\/strong>, in Mallorca<\/strong>, La Festa des Vermar is held, with a grape stomping contest, a wine fair and a grape battle, as well as a large parade of floats through the town. From September 4 to October 4, there are plays centered on wine.
