Legend has it that the celebrated pastry chef created this cult culinary classic in the early 1980s while working at Alle Beccherie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Loli invented it after accidentally pouring mascarpone into a bowl with sugar and eggs. Later, he and his co-inventor <strong>Alba di Pillo-Campeol<\/strong>, wife of Le Beccherie owner Ado Campeol, would add sponge cakes soaked in espresso to finish it off. The formula for success was set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Beccherie would then take it to Venice and spread it all over the world. From the 1990s onwards, the dessert would become famous everywhere, becoming a favourite of confectioners and diners worldwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Click here to read the Spanish version.
