Consum<\/strong> has achieved the best business figures in its history with a turnover of 4,388.7 million euros, an increase of 13.6% over the previous year. Net profit soared by 75%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All this has come about thanks to price increases as a way of offsetting rising costs, making its surface sales grow by 0.2% and in volume by 6.5%, achieving a great impact on the sector which has been related to the increase in profitability, according to its general manager Rodriguez L\u00e1zaro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is largely attributed to the fact that our electricity consumption pie has been reduced and also to the fact that we have made a major effort in terms of competitiveness. Consum’s energy strategy includes a 20-year agreement with Endesa for the supply of energy generated in a solar farm. The group, which is also installing solar panels in 2\/supermarkets and two of its logistics centres, claims that 97% of its energy is renewable’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spanish chain has risen to sixth place in the Spanish food distribution ranking with a share of 4.6%: a trend which, according to its forecasts for this year, will continue along the same lines and even higher thanks to a 5% increase in sales, and in its online sales due to the construction of its first logistics platform dedicated to e-commerce and the opening of 15 of its own shops and 35 Charter shops.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
