Maca de Castro <\/strong>takes over from the renowned Basque chef Andoni Luis Aduriz<\/strong>, after receiving the title of president of the Spanish delegation of the European Community of Chefs<\/strong>, Euro-Toques<\/strong>. The appointment took place during the thirteenth assembly held in Oviedo, Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mallorcan haute cuisine chef, who runs the Andana<\/strong> y Jard\u00edn<\/strong> restaurant in Mallorca, is now not only the only woman on the island with a Michelin-starred restaurant, but also the highest representative of the association founded by the historic chefs Paul Bocuse, Pierre Romeyer, Juan Mari Arzak and Pedro Subijana, which today has more than 3,500 chefs in 18 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n

De Castro thus becomes the first woman president of the European Community of Chefs and Cooks, unlocking a dream that she would allude to during the event. Since my formative years with Hilario Arbelaitz, wearing the Eurotoques jacket was a source of pride, like playing in another league’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This great figure of avant-garde Mediterranean cuisine has a Michelin star and a Green Star, as well as three Repsol suns, making her one of the most outstanding chefs in Spanish gastronomy. A status she achieved thanks to her training with great culinary personalities such as Arbelaitz, Arzak, Aduriz or Ferran Adri\u00e0; and the subsequent refinement of her own style that celebrates the excellence of the Mallorcan terroir without borders, in a contemporary way and with a certain dose of audacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
