The Spanish winery Ram\u00f3n Bilbao<\/a> celebrates its centenary in 2024 with its sights set on the future. Also with the firmness to continue making its way internationally, where it is already present in more than 60 countries, as reported in a statement. Specifically, the winery is already a global brand, since it exports 25% of its wines and is present in more than 60 countries, while it has set itself the goal of continuing to discover, innovate and grow in markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom and Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in Haro (La Rioja) in 1924, the Riojan winery, which also has a presence in Rueda, has been avant-garde since its beginnings, guided by the open-mindedness and curious spirit of its founder. In this way, it has stood out for making wines that inspire passion for discovery and enjoyment and that explore the uniqueness of the landscape. “For us it is key to focus on making wines with a greater purity and sense of place, seeking the maximum expression of the fruit as a fundamental part of our DNA. We have always looked at wine from curiosity and nonconformity, trying to go beyond and innovating from knowledge and respect,” says Rodolfo Bastida, technical director and winemaker of the Ram\u00f3n Bilbao winery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reinterpreting tradition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Under this philosophy, Ram\u00f3n Bilbao seeks to reinterpret tradition in Rioja, introducing a fresher and fruitier wine. In addition, he has implemented innovative winemaking processes to promote sustainable viticulture and revitalized areas such as the Eastern Rioja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His constant search for new challenges has led him to actively engage in promoting wine knowledge and education. To do so, he has launched initiatives such as the ‘Spanish Wine Academy’ platform and the ‘Spanish Wine Master’ competition. “For us it is key to expand the wine culture beyond our borders and make the world of Spanish wine become a reference for wine lovers and professionals in the global wine sector,” says Bastida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its commitment to sustainability and the environment, Ram\u00f3n Bilbao seeks to preserve biodiversity. It also seeks to adapt to climate change, setting itself the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. It is also working to reduce the weight of its bottles by more than 35 grams.
