If retirement at the age of 65 or 67 already seems too much, imagine working until the age of 84, and on top of that in something as sacrificing as the hotel and catering business, where you have to be on your feet all the time. The American Dot Sharp, who turned 84 in December, has decided to retire definitively after 45 years working at McDonald’s<\/a>, specifically in the McAuto section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharp joined the Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, location back in 1978, when they had not even launched the Happy Meal or Nuggets. January 12 was his last service and his last customer was, oddly enough, his granddaughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For such a special farewell, the store prepared a fitting tribute, with a message of affection on the sign at the entrance. In addition, regulars lined up to place their last order with Dot Sharp. “The self-service queue surrounded the entire building because many of her regular customers wanted to wish her well,” explained the store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

45 years in the same job goes a long way, and during this period of time, Sharp held a number of different positions, including manager, but in recent decades he had focused on the McAuto side of the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has also experienced firsthand the rise of the fast food chain par excellence, as well as the evolution of both the products offered and the prices.
