The lack of young people in rural areas makes many small municipalities take measures to encourage people to move to their towns and reactivate life there. The latest example can be seen in Irueste, a town in Guadalajara located just over an hour from Madrid. With barely 40 inhabitants during the winter months, the town council has launched a juicy and affordable proposal to receive new residents. For a symbolic amount of 10 euros per month, it offers to run the village bar and, in addition, to have free housing. You will only have to pay 30% of the electricity costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The desperate measure has been carried out after the former owners of the bar retired and the town was left without a meeting place and meeting point for leisure. As stated by the mayor of Irueste, Pedro del Olmo, in exchange for the 10 euros, &#8220;they will get a house in the church square recently refurbished, which has two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom, and the management of the bar which, considering the absence of competition, will hardly not make a profit&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tapasmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/bar_irueste1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tapasmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/bar_irueste1-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-222698\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tapasmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/bar_irueste1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.tapasmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/bar_irueste1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tapasmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/bar_irueste1-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tapasmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/bar_irueste1-1000x563.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.tapasmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/bar_irueste1-400x225.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.tapasmagazine.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/bar_irueste1.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With respect to the bar, the premises are equipped with an industrial kitchen equipped to prepare all kinds of lunches and dinners, as well as a dining room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to some members of the consistory, there are people who have already begun to be interested in the proposal.
