FRIDAY 17TH<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We begin the long-awaited weekend with a film session in the framework of ‘Pantalla Barcelona 2023-24′<\/strong>, a project that brings the seventh art to the neighbourhood through an extensive film programme focused this year on the theme of ‘Families and maternity’, which deals with new models of family beyond the traditional or nuclear family.<\/p>\n\n\n

At Casa Groga<\/strong> civic centre, the film ‘A perfectly normal family’ will be screened at 19h, an autobiographical drama starring a girl who refuses to accept her mother’s gender transition process, offering a hopeful testimony about overcoming transphobia within the family nucleus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the cinema we head to another dimension in Casa Bonay<\/strong>, until the lights go out on ‘Sentimiento’. The party at Sala Sentimiento is Aka Inu’s new proposal for NICA that will mix genres and generations under the musical curatorship of the Barcelona DJ with lives and DJ sets from selectors who will share line up with new talents.<\/p>\n\n\n

In this first edition, they will have a powerful line-up made up of TUPINAMBA, DJ SANDWICH, MATO and AKA INU, who will mix sounds in the same ritual that will range from electronica to disco-funk, clubhouse or the most unprecedented italodisco. SATURDAY 18TH<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday we will eat at the Venetian temple Xemei<\/strong> located in the Poble-sec neighbourhood.<\/p>\n\n\n

The boho-chic inspired restaurant run by twins Stefano and Max Colombo has revolutionised Barcelona’s culinary scene with its interpretation of Transalpine cuisine featuring pasta and fish dishes with the best seasonal ingredients such as sarde, pickled sardines, baked mackerel or marinated anchovies. Although if your true passion is pasta, the great recommendation is the spaghetti with mussels, clams and tomatoes. Where? In Pg. de l’Exposici\u00f3, 85.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon, we will visit the exhibition \u00a1AQU\u00cd ESTAMOS! Las mujeres en el dise\u00f1o. 1900 \u2013 Hoy<\/strong>\u2019 installed at Disseny Hub Barcelona<\/strong>: an ode to women in the world of design, which makes visible and highlights their role in this artistic discipline in which – as in most social, cultural and artistic spheres – they have been made invisible by the patriarchal system.<\/p>\n\n\n

This exhibition produced by the Vitra Design Museum of Weil am Rhein<\/strong> (Germany) thus opens the doors to a host of pioneering female artists of our country in the twentieth century, with a show that presents objects that go from furniture, interior design, graphic design and lighting to textiles, ceramics or jewellery created by female protagonists such as Charlotte Perriand, Gae Aulenti, Lina Bo Bardi or Eileen Gray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUNDAY 19TH<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Barcelona’s hipsters and alternative types are in luck because this Sunday their favourite fashion and design market is coming to Estaci\u00f3 de Fran\u00e7a: the Flea Market.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The market will have more than 150 shops divided into two sections: the second-hand vintage part with a cast of participants such as Tr\u00e8s Grand or Backrow Vintage, and a section of sustainable design projects from Barcelona with participants such as Lori Barcelona or Furor designs.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Gran Flea, in addition to focusing on fashion and sustainable design, is also presented as a party with a bar run by 33|45 with Moritz and Caf\u00e9 Nomad, as well as DJ sessions throughout the day, live screen printing and street food to satisfy our hunger and responsible consumption at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n

In the evening, we’ll try one of the most renowned Japanese restaurants on the Barcelona scene: Monster Sushi<\/strong>. Specifically, in its premises represented as a Japanese Izacaya tavern that stands out for its fusion of Japanese and Western flavours through an extensive menu that allows you to enjoy exquisite Japanese starters, unusual dishes such as the Crispy Duck or its Japanese Okonomiyaki Pizza, as well as its uramaki rolls and the most classic sushi made in the traditional Japanese way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
