It is currently one of the trendiest cuisines and more and more new restaurants are opening. Like other Asian cuisines, these are exotic recipes, with lots of vegetables, meat, seafood, fermented foods, spices and spiciness, whose dishes are often unpronounceable in the Western world due to the language barrier. Aware of this problem, linguist Elly Kim and her company <a href=\"https:\/\/promova.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Promova<\/a> have created an educational guide to facilitate the knowledge of the most popular Korean food dishes, which includes the Korean spelling, pronunciation and a description of each recipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kim has shared some of his concepts with Forbes magazine. So if you haven&#8217;t tried Korean food yet, because you didn&#8217;t quite know what you were going to eat, this guide will come in handy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The 26 most popular dishes in Korean cuisine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Kimchi<\/strong> \uae40\uce58 (kim-chi). It is a garnish for salted and fermented vegetables (such as Chinese cabbage).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bibimbap<\/strong> \ube44\ube54\ubc25 (pi-bim-pab). This is a rice dish usually served with meat and assorted vegetables.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Naengmyeon<\/strong> \ub0c9\uba74 (neng-myeong). They are frozen noodles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Japchae<\/strong> \uc7a1\ucc44 (chap-che). Glass noodles with mixed vegetables and meat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Banchan<\/strong> \ubc18\ucc2c (pan-chan). They are pasties.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Doenjang-jjigae<\/strong> \ub41c\uc7a5\ucc0c\uac1c (twen-jang-jji-ge). It is a soybean paste stew.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ramyung<\/strong> \ub77c\uba74 (la-myeon). Typical instant noodles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kimchi-jjigae<\/strong> \uae40\uce58\ucc0c\uac1c (kim-chi-jji-ge). It is a kind of kimchi stew.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Miyeok-guk<\/strong> \ubbf8\uc5ed\uad6d (mi-yeok-kuk). It is a dish made with dough and ground fish (fish cakes).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Twigim<\/strong> \ud280\uae40 (twi-gim). Any fried food, including vegetables and seafood.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gimbap<\/strong> \uae40\ubc25 (kim-pap). It is rice cooked with vegetables and other ingredients rolled in a sheet of dried seaweed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Koneudogeu<\/strong> \ucf58\ub3c4\uadf8 (ko-neu-do-geu). It is the popular corn dog.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dakgangjeong<\/strong> \ub2ed\uac15\uc815 (tak-kang-jeong). They are basically roasted sweet potatoes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gochujang<\/strong> \uace0\ucd94\uc7a5 (ko-chu-jang).
