The constant rise in food prices has led the hospitality sector to seek measures to ensure the viability of their businesses. One of the latest decisions taken in this respect has been that of Stonegate<\/a>, the largest pub company in the United Kingdom, which has such well-known chains as Slug and Lettuce and Craft Union; in total, 800 premises spread throughout the country. The company has decided to implement an increase in the price of pints in the busiest times of the day, i.e. in the evenings and at weekends. In addition to the increase in raw materials, the company argues that it also needs to cover the increase in staff and other factors such as the strict licensing requirements or increased security measures, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Esta medida, que han llamado “precios din\u00e1micos” supone que el cliente pagar\u00e1 25 c\u00e9ntimos m\u00e1s por consumici\u00f3n en franjas horarias determinadas. La noticia ha sido recibida con pol\u00e9mica, tanto por parte de los clientes como de algunas asociaciones hosteleras. Seg\u00fan publica Forbes, Tom Stainer, director ejecutivo de Campaign for Real Ale (Campa\u00f1a por la Cerveza Aut\u00e9ntica), asociaci\u00f3n de consumidores que representa a los hosteleros, considera “preocupante” dicha decisi\u00f3n y teme que pueda ocultar la transparencia de los precios a los clientes si el mensaje no aparece en un lugar destacado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Con respecto a la situaci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica de muchos negocios, Stainer tambi\u00e9n ha a\u00f1adido en Forbes que saben que “los bares y cervecer\u00edas atraviesan momentos dif\u00edciles, pero no creemos que un recargo que penalice a los clientes que quieren apoyar al sector sea la soluci\u00f3n adecuada. Nuestro temor es que pueda convencer a la gente para que se aleje”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los “precios din\u00e1micos” no es algo nuevo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Por su parte, Stonegate tambi\u00e9n argumenta que los precios din\u00e1micos les permiten ofrecer ofertas atractivas a los clientes durante las horas de menor afluencia, como c\u00f3cteles 2×1 y descuentos en comida y bebida, y as\u00ed potenciar tambi\u00e9n otras franjas horarios de consumo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No es la primera vez Stonegate aumenta el precio de sus productos. En fechas especiales, como grandes eventos deportivos (Mundial de F\u00fatbol, por ejemplo), hab\u00eda adoptado estas medidas, pero siempre de manera puntual, no permamente en su modelo de negocio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A partir de ahora, cuando un cliente visita uno de sus pubs, encontrar\u00e1 un aviso con un mensaje explicativo del estilo: “Los precios din\u00e1micos est\u00e1n actualmente activos en este local durante esta sesi\u00f3n de m\u00e1xima afluencia.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El concepto de precios din\u00e1micos ya existe en otros sectores y negocios, que var\u00edan sus precios en funci\u00f3n de la demanda o de la \u00e9poca del a\u00f1o. En plataformas de movilidad como Uber o Cabify, en el sector hotelero o, incluso, en webs de venta de entradas como Ticketmaster, entre otras. Aunque ninguna se escapa de las cr\u00edticas y las quejas por parte de los usuarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La empresa de pubs ha aclarado tambi\u00e9n que peri\u00f3dicamente revisa sus precios para adaptarlos a los costes actuales y poder garantizar la excelente relaci\u00f3n calidad-precio que caracteriza a sus locales. “Esta flexibilidad puede significar que, en ocasiones, los precios aumenten ligeramente en algunos pubs y bares debido al aumento de los costes que supone para el negocio la contrataci\u00f3n de personal adicional o los requisitos de concesi\u00f3n de licencias, como el aumento del n\u00famero de miembros del equipo de puerta”, concluyen desde Stonegate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Veremos c\u00f3mo afecta esta subida din\u00e1mica de precios tanto a esta empresa como al sector hostelero brit\u00e1nico, puesto que a partir de ahora puede marcar una pauta para muchos establecimientos.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
