The Museum of FIT <\/strong>(MFIT) presents a new exhibition entitled ‘Food & Fashion<\/strong>‘, which brings together more than 80 luxury garments and accessories that evoke gastronomy in different formats and designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All that constellation of creations and interpretations that explain how food culture has influenced fashion design throughout history and how it has extended to broader concepts such as gender, consumerism, sustainability or social activism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘Food & Fashion<\/strong>‘ houses designs on display that come from major couture houses such as Chanel, Moschino and Stella McCartney. Fashion pieces turned works of art that include iconic sets such as Moschino’s ‘Over 20 Billion Served’ from Fall 2014 or an all-over print Levi Strauss and Co. “Fresh Produce” T-shirt from 1975.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors attending this exhibition in New York will be greeted by a themed introduction from breakfast to dinner called ‘A day of food as fashion’ divided into five sections: from the kitchen to the current ‘foodie’ culture of the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
