Can you imagine discovering McDonald’s french fries from more than 60 years ago <\/strong>in your bathroom? That’s just what happened to Grace and Rob Jones, a married couple from Crystal Lake, Illinois, who found a surprising ‘haul’ while renovating their home: a piece of fabric rolled up inside the bathroom wall with an old McDonald’s bag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We both looked at each other and thought, ‘Oh my gosh, we’re going to crack a cold case – we just discovered evidence from the crime scene!” commented Gracie to CNN. “We were very relieved to have found the old McDonald’s bag,” she confessed with amusement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their astonishment grew when they opened the bag, which contained two hamburger wrappers and decades-old half-eaten fries<\/strong>. The final clue was printed on those peculiar wrappers: there was Speedee, the fast food chain’s first mascot<\/strong> before the creation of Ronald McDonald in 1963. That meant his unusual find was more than 60 years old<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most addictive fries<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

“We saw the chips and said, ‘This is unreal. How the hell are these chips still in this bag and how do they keep so well<\/strong>?’ It was crazy,” Grace Jones recounted, still amazed. “We’re guessing that whoever built the house probably went to McDonald’s for lunch, and the bag either fell in there or they hid it on purpose,” Rob Jones added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly, the Joneses discovered that one of the original McDonald’s in the area was built on their street the same year their house was built: 1959.<\/strong> What’s more, Grace’s mother was at the opening party: “She can still remember how much the cheeseburger cost when it opened and how much the fries were.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
