{"id":181064,"date":"2023-04-09T12:26:17","date_gmt":"2023-04-09T10:26:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tapasmagazine.es\/?p=181064"},"modified":"2023-04-09T12:26:54","modified_gmt":"2023-04-09T10:26:54","slug":"cafe-moderno-one-of-the-most-emblematic-establishments-in-pontevedra-reopens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tapasmagazine.es\/en\/cafe-moderno-one-of-the-most-emblematic-establishments-in-pontevedra-reopens\/","title":{"rendered":"Caf\u00e9 Moderno, one of the most emblematic establishments in Pontevedra, reopens"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tapasmagazine.es\/reabre-el-cafe-moderno-uno-de-los-establecimientos-mas-emblematicos-de-pontevedra\/\">here<\/a> to read in spanish.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After more than a year closed<strong>, the emblematic Caf\u00e9 Moderno of Pontevedra reopened its doors last week by the hand of the hotel businessman Manuel Ar\u00eds, <\/strong>who with his wife has Los Castellanos, a place near the Plaza de San Jos\u00e9. &#8220;I have only a few years left to retire and it&#8217;s a challenge, why not take it on,&#8221; Ar\u00eds explained to <em>La Voz de Galicia<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Caf\u00e9 Moderno is located <strong>in the most important art nouveau and modernist building in the city that bears the name of the historic cafeteria located on the first floor of the building. <\/strong>It is currently the headquarters of one of Afundaci\u00f3n&#8217;s socio-cultural centers in Pontevedra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Caf\u00e9 Moderno during most of the 20th century was a literary and artistic center where important politicians, <strong>writers and intellectuals such as Castelao, Alexandre B\u00f3veda, Ram\u00f3n Cabanillas or Garc\u00eda Lorca met in gatherings,<\/strong> according to the <em>Diario de Pontevedra<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The menu of Caf\u00e9 Moderno, which will maintain its historical decoration (the murals on its walls and its characteristic wooden chairs and tables), &#8220;will be similar to that of Los Castellanos, with a menu of the day at twelve euros and a single dish at ten&#8221;, Ar\u00eds assures in declarations collected by <em>La Voz de Galicia<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The historic cafeteria will be open from eight in the morning to eleven at night from Monday to Saturday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Click here to read in spanish.
