The iconic fast-food chain strictly follows all guidelines dictated by Coca-Cola when it comes to ensuring the authentic taste of the drink, which has even generated a mild addiction for many customers.

According to McDonald’s, it cleans its soda fountains with filtered water, which helps ensure that only the highest quality version of the drink is served in the dispensers.

The filtered water and Coca-Cola syrup used, McDonald’s adds, are pre-chilled before entering the fountain dispensers, and extra syrup is added so that when ice is added to a drink, it allows for a perfect ratio of syrup to ice water.

According to AllRecipes, these cold temperatures help keep carbon dioxide levels high, which helps soft drinks stay carbonated for longer.

Another reason for this is that the beverage syrup is received in stainless steel tanks as special reservoirs that keep the syrup fresh and protect it from external disturbances that could affect its taste, such as temperature and air.

Finally, McDonald’s stresses the effect of the use of its straws when tasting the drink. It’s slightly wider than a normal straw so that the full flavour of the Coke reaches your taste buds.’
