A dessert as traditional as strawberries with cream has become one of the most viral sweets in Madrid in recent weeks. The place is called La Fresería and its secret lies in the simplicity of such a beloved fruit as strawberries, to which are also added varied toppings ranging from Belgian chocolate cream, white chocolate or caramelized Lotus cookie to pieces of oreo, pistachio or chocolate Peta Zetas.

A proposal that combines tradition and originality that has revolutionized the snacks in the capital. La Fresería is located in such a central location as the Antón Martín Market, at Calle de Santa Isabel, 5 (exterior premises). In addition, on the occasion of Christmas they have incorporated new festive proposals such as nougat cream, conguitos or shredded coconut. The small glass costs 3.50 € and you can add a cream for 1 € plus toppings for 0.5 €.

Behind the concept is Esther Muñoz, responsible for another of this year’s gastro phenomena in Madrid: La Caracola, which serves potato omelettes and cheese cakes, and usually accumulates long queues both at its premises in the Mercado de Antón Martín and in the Plaza de Chueca.

If you still haven’t tried Madrid’s most viral strawberries with a sweet and healthy touch, take note:
