From May 9 to 13, Madrid will once again become the world capital of podcasting in Spanish with the celebration of the second edition of Estación Podcast, an event focused on the universe of podcasts that this year has Mexico as its guest country. For five days you can enjoy an outstanding selection of live podcasts, presentations, panel discussions, workshops and much more. This year, in addition to Casa America and Círculo de Bellas Artes, there will be activities at CentroCentro, Serrería Belga, La Casa Encendida and Casa México. And to make a stop to refuel between podcasts, we leave you this selection of restaurants that you must visit these days in Madrid. Take note!

Puntarena

If you go to any of the activities that take place at Casa México, you already have a plan to eat: in this restaurant located inside. Puntarena, run by Federico Rigoletti, is a restaurant more than established in Madrid and a benchmark of Mexican cuisine in the capital. A trip to the Pacific coast, with fish as the main protagonist and a lot of fusion and dishes to share. There is no shortage of good signature cocktails. And if you are more in the area of Cibeles and Las Letras, another option is to visit the latest opening of Rigoletti in Madrid. It is the restaurant Ticuí, located in Cedaceros street, 6.

Paco Roncero

Back in 1990, when haute cuisine was just beginning to become a reality, La Terraza del Casino witnessed the arrival of avant-garde cuisine. 30 years, it is said soon, in which it has not ceased to be at the foot of the cannon and in which it has managed to shine -it has two Michelin stars- among the greatest. Both inside and on its terrace, which has some of the best views of the city, it gives free rein to iconic elaborations within the international cuisine, with the exclusive and quality product as its flag.

The Puerta de Alcalá is full of life, of idle terraces, of selfies and even of newlyweds who decide to create there the album of their memories. But you only have to take a few steps to find yourself in front of another door, in this case made of rustic wood. Inside, the Mexican Caribbean: carved fish, grilled shrimp or octopus ceviches, guacamole with coastal sauce. And be careful, Roberto Ruiz is not afraid of meat, as you can taste the Wagyu memela or the cochinita pibil panucho. Remember that here the mezcaliña (cocktail) will be your greatest ally against the spicy.

CEBO

Under the direction of Javier Sanz and Juan Sahuquillo, architects of the restaurant Oba, CEBO is inspired by a cuisine without artifice but full of nuances, which delves into the flavors, claiming the simplicity and the elemental. It is the evolution of Cañitas Maite in a haute cuisine format. They offer two tasting menus, of 8 and 15 steps, in which you can taste dishes such as carabinero madurazo, chipirón de anzuelo, working cow sirloin or sheep’s milk. Product, essence and simplicity is how they define themselves.

Deessa

Quique Dacosta’s headquarters in the capital. Heaven on Earth, many would think, when the chef from Extremadura, who lives in La Terreta, displayed his talent and sensitivity in this great corner that the Mandarin Oriental Ritz dedicated to haute cuisine after its refurbishment and reopening. Some of the dishes that have earned the eponymous three-star Michelin chef so much recognition – with a special cameo of the great red shrimp of Denia – and other new creations in keeping with the proposal and the place are concentrated there. With the departure of Ricardo Tobella as head chef, they are starting a new season in which there is much to look forward to.

Recreo Espartinas

Playground, which is home, where tapas and dishes to share are part of the fun. No visit leads to disappointment: its relaxed atmosphere makes it even more welcoming; it also helps that the hours pass without looking at the clock in the company of a casual cuisine where the product -from here and there- is always at its best. With its broccoli with kimchi or the red curry of fried suckling pig and a more than interesting wine list, there Pablo Montero and Álex Díaz-Guerra -of admirable trajectory- have managed that the hour of the Recreo continues being the best.

Q78

And since this edition has Mexico as a guest country, we had to end this selection with a Mexican restaurant. Q78 Gastromezcal is a meeting point to sit down to eat and drink calmly and enjoy every sip of mezcal and every bite of the best Mexican flavors: aguachile, cochinita pibil, carnitas Michoacán style, chicharrón or arrachera, are just some of the delicacies you can taste here. If you have enjoyed immersing yourself in the sound world of Mexico, it is time to do it through your palate.
