From crystal tumblers to wine glasses to whisky jugs, the New York designer who redefined the codes of tailoring with his avant-garde uniforms now dresses the table with a glass collection with Baccarat, conceived in New York and manufactured in Lorraine, France.

Thom Browne delves into Baccarat’s extensive archive to reissue some of its most iconic pieces, serving handcrafted glasses, wine glasses, tumblers and whisky decanters in which the designer reflects his distinctive design patterns.

Here, the collaboration is sculpted with the designer’s signature four-bar motif, resulting in standout pieces such as the ‘Yacht Glass’, originally created in 1952 by Georges Chevalier for the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris. The piece was known for its square base, and was a favourite of royalty, including the Prince of Whales.

‘We want to make a beautiful collection that can last and has a timeless design. We want it to live forever and be in our shops forever,’ Browne told WWD about the motivation behind this foray into the crystal business.

The Thom Browne x Baccarat collection will be available exclusively on the brand’s website and in some of its physical shops.
