Last weekend His Majesty King Felipe VI visited Baqueira Beret to spend a weekend skiing with some friends. To regain strength after a hard day descending the slopes of Baqueira, the King and his friends decided to visit a well-known restaurant in the area that serves homemade and traditional food. The chosen restaurant was El Fogón del Valle, located in the town of Viella, Lleida. It was the restaurant itself who published an image on their social networks where the King could be seen with Tatiana, one of those who runs the restaurant. The photo was accompanied by a phrase of thanks: “Pleasant visit of our King Felipe to the restaurant El Fogòn Del Valle, thank you for preferring us, it was a pleasure to serve you”.

According to what Tatiana herself revealed in the Segre newspaper, they did not find out that the reservation was the King’s until they saw him enter the door. And it was a quiet and discreet dinner. As for the delicacies that His Majesty tasted with his friends, the traditional longaniza sausage from the Aran Valley was not missing. Among the most outstanding dishes served in the restaurant, the grilled meats, the typical Aranese pot or stuffed peppers stand out. In addition, according to ¡Hola! magazine, the evening was paired with a wine from Bodegas Paco Garcia, and ended with two desserts: a pistachio tart and a cheesecake with lemon sorbet and rum and raisin ice cream.

The place is a traditional place well known among the locals. And it also serves a very popular menu of the day at an affordable price and other options such as the rice menu for 20 €.
