In the midst of the ramen boom in Spain, we have been looking for original combinations with this Asian recipe and ramen doughnuts, also known as Ramnuts, have appeared. It is nothing new, because years ago this idea began to be seen in different Social Media profiles. As its name suggests, it is a berlina whose dough is made with ramen noodles, and is bathed with the glaze of your choice. Although at first it may not sound too appetizing, those who try it, repeat. Would you dare to prepare it at home? Here is a step-by-step breakdown of the recipe.

  • Put the horchata in a saucepan and, when it is about to boil, add the noodles.
  • Cook for a few minutes until soft.
  • Take out the noodles and separate them so that they do not stick together.
  • Dip the noodles in a bowl with the beaten eggs. Separate into as many piles as you want. Cover with plastic wrap and put in the freezer for at least three hours.
  • When they are semi-frozen, take them out and shape them into doughnut shapes.
  • Here you have two alternatives: either fry them as they are, or dip them in a little beaten egg and flour, so that they become a little breaded (barely).
  • Once fried, drain the oil well and glaze with the ingredients of your choice (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry).
  • Top the ramnuts with the colored sprinkles.
