There is no need for any excuse or special occasion to enjoy Mexican gastronomy. But it so happens that September 15 and 16 are two very important dates for Mexican culture in general, and its gastronomy in particular. On the night of the 15th, the so-called Grito de la Independencia is celebrated, a day that commemorates such an important historical event for the country as the beginning of the struggle for its independence back in 1810. As if that were not enough, every September 16, one of the most emblematic dishes of its gastronomy is honored: guacamole. So we have decided to make a route through different Mexican restaurants in Madrid to enjoy a delicious guacamole.

Tepic

Tepic is another of the most emblematic Mexican restaurants in Madrid. Its guacamole with onion, cilantro and tomato accompanied by tortilla chips is one of the highlights of the house. In addition, to celebrate the Grito, they have prepared a special tasting menu for 45 € with which the chef Jardiel Varela wants the diner to feel like in Aztec lands through dishes such as octopus tostada a la diabla and a mixed cocktail of tree tomato, orange, coconut and striped chili, prepared by the bartender and head waiter, Javier Quiñones; chiles en nogada and suckling pig carnitas, pipián huasteco and vegetables; along with dessert and a margarita. And starting at 11 p.m., you will be able to enjoy a mariachi show. What more could you ask for?
