From Tapas we compile the best plans with which to enjoy the weekend in Madrid, and relegate ourselves to hedonism between cultural and gastronomic experiences, parties, events and museums. Take the agenda and take note of our weekly proposal.

FRIDAY 9

Friday arrives and we activate the Primavera Sound mood. In the City of Rock of Arganda del Rey, we will enter a new festive dimension in which to enjoy an iconic line-up, both musical and gastronomic, in the open air.

In the middle of this vast natural space, we will dine at The Fitzgerald’s ephemeral restaurant with one of its gourmet American-style burgers cooked on charcoal coals, before starting the concert series. There we will order the star of the house, which shines above the rest: the Fitzgerald burger with double cheddar cheese, red onion, pickles, bacon and Fitz sauce.

Having satiated our hunger with large doses of food porn, we will be 100% ready to experience the electronic session of Depeche Mode, and the exciting concert of rapper Kendrick Lamar, which will provide us with enough adrenaline to continue the party with the dj sets of Fred Again and John Talabot.

SATURDAY 10

On Saturday we will dawn gradually after a frenetic night, to visit the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, and the artistic exhibitions it currently houses. Among them, the retrospective exhibition of the British painter Lucian Freud, “whose complex and fascinating existence eclipsed the magnitude of his work”. There, we will contemplate the works and zoom in on all the details and brushstrokes of his figurative art, as well as the painter’s seven decades of production.

Strolling along the flowery Paseo del Prado, and the vibrant center of the capital, we will arrive at Lettera Trattoria Moderna, the Italian chef Francesco Ingargiola installed in Calle Reina, 20. An aesthetic space inspired by the landscapes of Tuscany and the Western Mediterranean, where we will share among friends its classic pasta Alla Carbonara, with guanciale and pecorine, its pasta finished in a wheel of parmigiano, and its ravioli stuffed with duck and pear in white wine sauce.

From this passage, we will head to the fashion boutique EKSEPTION in order to find a good designer outfit with which to live the Primavera Sound in a different way; with a Coperni bag over the shoulder and a coordinated set of Courregès. We will then return to the festival fully prepared to enjoy the concerts and sets of Calvin Harris, as well as the concerts of the great references of urban music Tokischa, Rosalia and Bad Gyal.

SUNDAY 11

On Sunday we will go for brunch, but this time, to a totally different brunch than the ones usually served in the capital, amidst an explosion of color and glitter. At the SESSIONS restaurant of Hard Rock Hotel Madrid, the Drag Brunch will become the perfect plan to experience that late breakfast with plenty of cocktail options and delicious burgers, while enjoying a Drag performance with renowned artists such as Gala Von Rich or Diamante Merybrown.

From this gastronomic show we will move on to another brunch, but this time electronic: the Brunch Electronik x Primavera Sound at the Estadio Cívitas Metropolitano. An exclusive party that will feature show cases of international artists such as Diplo, Ben Böhmer, CamelPhat, Carlita or Two Ex, who will serve us the full spectrum of sounds and types of electronic music: from melodic, breakbeat or nineties house, to the depths of the darkest techno.
