Starbucks, the world’s leading coffee distributor and roaster and a brand operated by Alsea in Spain since 2018, closed 2023 with more than 25.8 million beverages sold. In addition, it has continued to boost its presence in Spain with the opening of 23 new stores last year.

Thanks to the total number of stores opened, the company generated more than 200 new jobs. It should also be noted that 17 of these openings mobilized approximately 40,000 euros in donations, benefiting more than 12,500 people.

With respect to the quantity of coffee, the almost 26 million beverages that Starbucks sold in Spain during 2023 translates into some 220 thousand kilos of coffee, with Colombia Nariño coffee being the most consumed specialty at the national level, while latte coffee became the most demanded beverage by Spaniards, in medium size and both in store and delivery.

Finally, in the statement shared by the brand, reference was also made to the habits of Spaniards. Thus, in the mornings, customers opt for the delivery format. On the other hand, the most ordered meal in store is the Egg Sandwich, the muffin with egg, bacon, cheese and hollandaise sauce. It also highlights that its loyalty program, Starbucks Rewards, launched in Spain last June, already has more than half a million users.
