The brand has made the dream of content creators and spreaders of the viral internet trend of dunking tea bags in Sprite come true. A combination originally devised by an intern that has ended up being a large-scale launch, developed by Coca-Cola’s R&D team.
The online craze would thus lead Sprite to explore this combination with the help of consumers who helped perfect this refreshing amber-colored drink sealed by a green and yellow label. “We always listen to our consumers,” says Kate Schaufelberger, Brand Director, Sprite North America. “Sprite + Tea offers a unique take on a classic, and fans are going to love it.”
The new drink, which is already available in the USA and Canada, combines the lemon-lime flavor with that of tea, and comes in both regular and sugar-free varieties. However, it will only be sold for a limited time, specifically until October 2025.
To promote the launch, Sprite has launched a campaign with Eastside Golf, a brand known for mixing golf with hip-hop and basketball culture. It includes a short film entitled ‘The Fix’ featuring Eastside founders Olajuwon Ajanaku and Earl Cooper, along with rapper Monaleo.
