In a gastronomic panorama where spectacularity is sought after and many restaurants are copies of successful concepts, it is also appreciated when places appear with honest proposals, without artifice, and where quality and product are the differentiating elements. This is the case of Sa Marinada, a simple restaurant located in the area of Almagro, in Chamberí, specializing in Empordà cuisine from the Costa Brava. Sitting at one of its tables will be like going to the Catalan coast without leaving Madrid.

Sa Marinada is a tribute to the Empordà and its culinary customs. In fact, the name refers to the marinade, the wind typical of the Catalan coast. The product, especially fish and seafood, is the real protagonist of the menu. Joan Gurt -owner together with Marisa Amat- brings every week the raw material directly from the Brava coast to offer his diners an authentic show of flavors and products that rarely can be found at this level in the capital and that arrive fresh thanks to the logistic network that its owners have created to supply the local product in the Madrid market.

From the Palamós shrimp -either in croquette, carpaccio, salad or in XL format-, to the anchovies from the Cape of Roses, the mini coastal slices, the baby langoustines flambéed in the wok, the sonsos in Andalusian style or the baby squid and cuttlefish from the coast. The offer of Sa Marinada will delight the most coastal diners. In his letter also there is a hollow marked for rices like the suquet of monkfish of Coast with lobsters of Palamós, clams and mussels; the dry rice of red prawn to the live coal, his carpaccio and romesco of his coral; or the mellow rice with lobsters of Palamós.

And taking care of every last detail, Sa Marinada covers the needs of the sweet tooth with outstanding desserts such as strawberries with pepper -with coconut ice cream and orange juice flambé- or crème brulée with orange aroma, 100% made on the premises.

As a good land of cava, you can not miss an extensive liquid menu with more than 70 national and international references of whites, reds, rosés and sweets, as well as champagnes and cavas, 70% of which come from the Empordà. A curious fact is that the restaurant offers the possibility of bringing your own bottle of wine, which will be served by the wait staff.

If you feel like living a 100% gastronomic experience, without filters, with a quality product like few others and a unique culinary proposal in Madrid, Sa Marinada will become your next hotspot. Take note:
